Mentoring

Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn inspires our mentees to be strong, smart and bold through life-changing programs and experiences that help them navigate gender, economic and social barriers.

Research-based curricula, delivered by trained, mentoring professionals in a positive all-girl environment, equip our mentees to achieve academically, lead healthy and physically active lives, manage money, navigate media messages, and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math.

Each week, mentees engage in 90-minute sessions led by their college-aged mentors that build social-emotional skills, character, and a love of learning. Our programs emphasize goal-setting, resilience, and confidence while fostering a sense of community.

STRONG, SMART, BOLD Outcomes

The goal of this program is to empower youth to use their voices to advocate for themselves and their interests. This will be done by providing youth with mentorship, academic interests and career exploration that will help them acquire advocacy, wellness, and economic literacy skills.

By participating in Project BOLD, our mentees will develop ways to uplift and engage with their communities, embrace community with their peers, spark creativity within themselves, and cultivate

/hone in on their interests. The weekly activities are designed to provide academic enrichment to youth. They fall under three different categories: Strong (Healthy Living), Smart (Academic Enrichment & Support), and Bold (Life Skills). Each category has its own Core Essential Services.
